Objectives (and how to capture them)
“No battle is fought without purpose.” - Federal Coalition Marine Lt. Korran Vale during the Battle of Jutler
Briefing
Armies do not deploy without purpose. Every engagement is driven by Objectives—defined goals that shape the battlefield and determine victory.
Completing objectives allows commanders to:
Earn Victory Points (VP)
Gain tactical advantages such as Command Points or unit recovery
Ultimately win the game
A collection of objectives is known as a Mission.
Each mission is influenced by:
The Tier level of the game
The composition of your Task Force
After all, every unit has a role. You don’t send tanks to clear buildings, and you don’t send infantry to hunt aircraft. Success comes from aligning your force with your mission.
Mission Planning
Each mission is built from three components:
Primary Objectives (Required)
Secondary Objectives (Optional)
Standing Orders (Always available)
Primary Objectives
You must select Primary Objectives equal to the Tier level of the game.
Secondary Objectives
You may select Secondary Objectives up to the Tier level.
Standing Orders
Available to all players
Do not count against objective limits
Can be completed at any time during the game

Objective Selection Rules
Objectives must match your force capabilities
Some objectives require specific unit types to be selected
You may only choose objectives your force is capable of completing
Category Restrictions
You may not select multiple objectives from the same mission category across Primary and Secondary lists
You may not select the same objective twice
Primary Objectives:
Primary Objectives are tied directly to Victory Points (VP) and Tier level.
Total VP selected must equal the Tier level
You may mix objectives from different mission types to reach this total
Examples
Tier 1 Game
Select objectives totaling 1 VP
Tier 4 Game
2 VP from Assault Missions
2 VP from Defend Missions
Capturing Objectives
Unless otherwise stated:
Only units with the LIGHT CORE keyword may capture or secure objectives
Other units may contest, but not control

Contesting Rules
LIGHT CORE units always take priority over non-LIGHT CORE units
If both are LIGHT CORE:
The unit with more models controls the objective
Secondary Objectives
Secondary Objectives follow the same structure as Primary Objectives:
Total VP must equal the Tier level
Must follow category restrictions
Must align with your force composition
These provide additional strategic depth but should complement—not conflict with—your Primary Objectives.
Standing Orders
Standing Orders represent battlefield opportunities—moments where commanders exploit chaos to gain an advantage.
Always available
Require no selection
Do not count toward Primary or Secondary limits
First player to complete them gains the Victory Points
Standing Orders List:
Disrupt Enemy Leadership
Gain Victory Points for eliminating enemy leaders.
VP = Target’s Rank
Recover Casualties
Extract your fallen from the battlefield.
Gain VP for each casualty brought within 5” of your home edge
VP = Casualty’s Rank
Tactical Retreat
At the start of Round 3, you may withdraw.
Each unit that reaches your home edge earns 1 VP (max 5)
Units left behind count as casualties
The game ends immediately once all retreating units exit
Take Prisoners
Capture enemy casualties for intelligence or leverage.
Gain VP for each captured casualty
VP = Casualty’s Rank
Conditions:
Must have an infantry model in base-to-base contact
Must escort casualty to your home edge to secure

Final Thoughts:
Objectives define the battle.
Victory does not go to the strongest force—but to the commander who best understands:
Their mission
Their units
And the moment to act
